In addition to walk in glass shower screens, frameless shower doors can be used in a recessed area of a wetroom to replace the use of a shower curtain. These doors give full, level access in and out of the shower and can fold back to the wall when the not in use. The glass doors can also be fitted with a side panel to form frameless shower enclosures which feature the same benefits. The overlapping glass design of the shower doors provides a generous 60mm length adjustment.

Frameless Shower Doors and Enclosures for the Wet Room

Wetrooms can also take advantage of the most up to date shower heads providing a rain like cascade of water and the positioning of the shower area can be in the centre of the room, in a corner or a recess. Walk through wet room glass panels are a popular option for larger rooms, along with walk in shower enclosures. A walk in shower can be fitted to a single wall should a window be in an awkward position, and this type of wet room shower enclosure can be formed from two or more fixed glass shower screens or from a combined fixed panel and swing screen, this later option providing a more flexible access in and out of the shower. When choosing fixtures for the wet room, wall hung toilets and basins make cleaning and drying of the floor much easier and glass shower screens will blend into the room design. These wet room shower screens can be used to separate the shower from a basin, toilet or furniture. If the space is limited in the room, a hinged shower screen can be used which will fold away when not required.

If the wet room shower area is situated into a recess, level access is maintained using a wet room screen or a frameless shower door. Often the width of the recess limits the length of fixed glass shower panel which can be used, but the use of curved or straight hinged glass shower screens can provide a wider glass deflector and can then be folded back to the wall when the shower is not in use.

A wet room is ideal for rearranging the bathing solution for all of the family. When designing a bathrooms, designers will usually opt for wetrooms to create a spacious feel to the room and to provide a modern, sleek look. The wet room is a benefit to those who are less mobile, as the flooring around the shower has a gentle slope to the drain and a level access to the shower is provided throughout.

There are a variety of wet room shower floor formers to choose from and it is now possible to completely waterproof the full wet area all around the floor and shower walls, with the water flowing away down the formed slope in the floor to the drain. If natural stone is used in wetrooms, the porous nature of this type of flooring may require it to be resealed, but can provide a stunning finish. Ceramic tiles with a textured surface may provide a more slip resistant surface for the wet room floor and the use of mosaic tiles in the shower area can also be used.
